Some of my thoughts during lunch today while Nation and Robin talked about music
Are you being mean by saying that mean people suck?
Forced sharing really isn’t sharing.
It sucks that a co-worker told me that detail about last night’s episode of Alias, because I recorded it.
Dry face + not shaving because my face is dry = really itchy face.
I should do some more shelving today.
Duck sauce is really tasty.
That chic sure is tall.
I should study tonight, because I have a test Tuesday morning and another one Wednesday night, then watch Alias Wednesday night after my tests are done. Yes that is what I’ll do.
Alias girl in underwear.
I like broccoli.

I
For my dead homie.
The recent snow here in town has been a reminder of my loss this past summer. The first winter I had Bacaridi we had a little bit of snow and she was still al little puppy then. So I enjoyed watching her jump through the 3 to 5 inches of snow (which was deep for her) and it seemed like she liked playing in it. So every year after, Bacardi and I would go and play in the snow, not that it snows much here.
The other night as I did my closing duties at the library I stop for a moment, stared out at the snow and thought of Bacardi and how much I miss her still. Tonight I’m gonna get a 40oz and pour some out in the snow for my dead homie.

Wednesday, January 15, 2003 Tim Burton you are a JACKASS!!
So the acting is bad I can except, that I do watch the WB. There really is not a plot, that’s is ok because it’s a “make-up and effects” movie. But the nerd in me get really pissed when they start screwing with time travel and don’t even try to make it work in a way that makes sense. This is why I now hate Tim Burton, and his pile of crap movie “The Planet of the Apes”.
The Movie starts in 2029. Marky Mark travels through a storm; wait a space storm, and then he is sent into the future a thousand years plus. He lands on a planet, yes The Planet of the Apes. So far I am with the story. After much adventure and confusion we get to the big battle and we all learn a lesson or two. But at the end Marky Mark goes back to the space storm and is sent back in time to 2129 or there abouts. This time he crashes on Earth, but it is a Earth in which every thing is the same except that apes are the cops and reports and tourists. And the bad guy from the other planet in the future is the hero from the past of Earth. Now there are a number of Sci-Fi nerd ways to explain this, so the first time I saw the movie I just gave Tim Burton the benefit of the doubt. Well on the DVD he not only show that he is incapable of speaking but also he show that he had know really thought behind the ending. It was a weird ending for the sake of having a weird ending. And that is why I hate Tim Burton.
Tuesday, January 14, 2003 Did I hear a MOO?
I left my brother’s apartment at 11:19pm last night only to be stuck in traffic about a mile away from the Statesville Rd. exit on HWY 85. From 11:25 till 11:43 I crept along and sat still a lot, in the traffic. Traffic does not bother me. But I always find it funny that so many people thing that honking their horn when on one can do anything is a helpful act. It must be a way to release their stress and that is better than shooting people.
We moved then stopped for a few minutes. I had several Graphic Novels checked out from the library so I could read during the pauses. During the first break I heard what sounded like someone walking on my car. The sound was loud and very close but nobody was on my car, and that would have bothered me. The next pause I hear a moo, and then another mooooo. I quickly figure out that the 18 wheeler to my right is hauling live cattle. And they didn’t seem to like traffic or the honking horns or maybe they saw the leather seats in me car, because for the remainder of the time that I was next to that truck they stomped and moo-ed nonstop.
Monday, January 13, 2003 First day of School
Tonight is my first night of class after my break from school last semester. That was my first break from school sence I began a long long long time ago. I have been nervous all-day and last night I could not sleep. I have all of my books and my classes are paid for, but I can’t figure out why I am so nervous about this semester. The class I am taking tonight is a class that I have taken before but at another school and I did well the last time I took it, so it should be a breeze. I guess that this is the end of my “summer of fun” and now its time for me to go back to work, and I am just have first day jitters.
Or maybe its because I am worried about what’s gonna happen on Joe Millionaire tonight.

Saturday, January 04, 2003 Forgive Him or Thank Him
About 12:20pm Friday afternoon, I answer the phone at work. The dude on the phone wants to send flowers to his wife, and she is in one of the meeting rooms at my work. So I figure out which room she is in and give the dude my name. Then tell him to have the florist find me and I will get him to the right place.
Around 2:30pm I am working the desk and this guy walks up and ask for me. He is carrying a large vase of flowers and what looks like one of those boxes for roses. To my surprise the rose box had my name on it “Attn: Mark”. So I take the delivery guy to the conference room and he sets the flowers down (at this time the room is empty as the group has broke for lunch). I ask him what I am suppose to do with the rose box, and he said that they must be for me because they have my name on them. We leave the room and then I head back to the desk. I can’t figure out why this guy gave me flowers and then it occurred to me to read the card. The card has more instructions for me. I am to give a rose to each of the other ladies in the meeting then what ever is left is for the staff and me. The ladies have returned and so I complete this task. I did nothing but deliver and got much of the glory. The Ladies thanked me then my co-works enjoyed the remaining roses.
Thursday, January 02, 2003 God Bless Us, Everyone…. But Mostly Me
When you receive a gift, it’s a very nice feeling. The idea that someone took the time and/or money to do something for you can make you day. I even received a gift or two from friend that I had not expected (thanks for the beer Kathleen). And I am grateful for all that I have received because these people cared enough to get me something that was just for me. I feel like I have a lot of people who really care about me, until last night.
I received a gift from a person, who will remain nameless in this blog, which is the most self centered gift I have ever received. “What’s So Amazing About Grace?” by Philip Yancey. Author of “The Jesus I Never Knew”. It’s okay I don’t know who this guy is either. Now I have no problem with someone trying to save my soul. I need all the help I can get. So at first I thought that this person really cares about me enough to get me something that they know I will never read but they think that I should read just the same. Not my thing but hey good intention none the less. Then I read the note that came along with the book: “Mark, I bought this book so that you may understand my faith better. (It’s not an attempt to convert you in any way!) Thanks for the journal, it was very thoughtful.” So that is when I realize that this person doesn’t really care about my soul, he/she just wants me to think about him/her more. This is like if I have bought my mom a Playstation 2 game. The irony of this situation is that this “Godly” person is so self absorbed that they have missed the meaning behind Christmas (well the commercialized meaning).
